Working together to achieve the best outcomes for our pupils
Offering a parent’s perspective
As part of Turner Schools, our Board of Trustees are the accountable body but local governors are the all important "eyes and ears" on the ground; they are "critical friends" who help steer the strategic direction of the school and are advocates for our parents and pupils.
Two parent governors sit on our school board (Challenge & Community Boards - CCB). They are vital members of our CCBs bringing the unique perspective of a parent to help us provide the best possible education for every child.

A commitment to the school’s values and success.
The ability to work as part of a team.
A willingness to complete training, prepare for meetings, ask questions and listen.
Availability to attend 4 meetings, and two visits per year.
🎓 Help improve the lives of children and young people
📍 Make a difference in your community
👥 Build professional skills and networks
😊 A rewarding experience
When a vacancy arises, we invite "Nominations" via email and the school newsletter. If more parents apply than there are seats available, a secret ballot (election) will be held.
